Sparkwell Villas is situated in the village of Colebrook, Plympton in Devon.

A stone boundary wall at the side of the property was in need of some attention. The wall itself was leaning and the only thing keeping it up was the tree in front of it.

Parts of the wall had already come down and the vegetation was beginning to take over.

 It was agreed to take the wall down to a suitable level and place the stone aside for re-use. Once the wall was taken down it was sprayed with a good dose of root killer to sort out the vegetation problem. Then we set about getting the wall back up using the existing stone.

A traditional lime mortar was used to build the wall.

When the wall was up to its finished height, we started to lay the coping.

The coping consisted of a soldier course using upright stone.

It was completely pointed in using the lime mortar to keep the coping and the top of the wall weather proof.
